What do you think of when you think of sun protection?
Do you think of sunscreen? Do you think of clothing? Do you think of wearing a hat? What about protecting your eyes? Did you know UV rays also have an adverse effect on your eyes?
Did you know that there are THREE types of Ultraviolet (UV) rays?
UVA, UVB and UVC. As you can see in the illustration, UVC is completely absorbed by the ozone. UVA and UVB are the two that have adverse effect on our skin and our eyes.

How can you protect your eyes from those harmful UV rays?
By wearing sunglasses that protect your eyes against both UVA and UVB rays. Dark lenses DO NOT automatically filter out more harmful UV radiation.
Ultraviolet rays are wavelengths measured in nanometers (nm) between 200 and 400 nm (see illustration below). Choose sunglasses that offer protection against UVA and UVB. These are usually identified with a UV400 label or 100% UV Protection.
